5 Twin Cities Summer Festivals You Won’t Want to Miss

Summer will be here before you know it. As things heat up expect to see festivals, concerts, and other outdoor events coming to parks and downtown venues near you.

Are you moving to Minneapolis? Summer Festivals are a great way to get out with the family and enjoy the weekend. The weather is perfect for the many Minneapolis summer festivals and events.

If you live in the Twin Cities area or will be visiting, you will want to see what’s on tap. Keep reading for five festivals you can’t miss.

How to Enjoy Your Minneapolis Summer

Minneapolis makes it easy for residents and newcomers to get outside and enjoy all that the area has to offer. It’s not just about getting downtown but also exploring the many communities and parks surrounding Minneapolis.

When you’re planning for things to do, consider the rich culture the area has to offer. From cuisine offered at food truck festivals to supporting local artists, Minneapolis is an entertainment mecca.

Here are just a few of the great outdoor events taking place this summer.

1. 25th Annual Stone Arch Bridge Festival – 6/14/19-6/16/19

This three-day music festival takes place on Main Street along the city’s waterfront. You can expect to find great food, concerts and plenty of family-friendly activities.

2. Pan-o-Prog – Summer Festival – 7/4/19-7/14/19

Panorama of Progress is a weeklong festival that starts on the 4th of July in the town of Lakeville. Located 20 miles from downtown Minneapolis, your family can celebrate the 4th with fireworks and live music.

Over the next ten days, are various tournaments, concerts, and a midway carnival the second weekend. The festival closes out with a grand parade.

3. Lumberjack Days – 7/19/19-7/21/19

It’s the 8th anniversary of the Lumberjack Days three-day event. The highlight of the event is the lumberjack competitions. Summer events like Lumberjack expose youth to new experiences while the entire family indulges in great food and awesome bands.

Lumberjack Days takes place near the riverfront of Lowell Park in Stillwater, about a half-hour drive from downtown Minneapolis.

4. Slice of Shoreview Days – 7/26/19-7/28/19

The Slice of Shoreview Days takes place annually the last weekend of July in the community of Shoreview. It’s held at the Island Lake County Park Friday through Sunday.

Attendees can expect to find various musical performances, a car show, nightly fireworks, and a parade on Saturday.

5. Minnesota State Fair – 8/22/19-9/2/19

Who doesn’t love attending the state fair? It’s one of the few times when everyone can be a kid again. Minnesota has one of the greatest state fairs in the country.

If you are coming just for the food, you won’t be disappointed. With over 300 food vendors there is sure to be a few treats that you’ll love.
