This list only covers a few of the great things Minneapolis has to offer. Keep reading to learn all about it!

Minneapolis Institute of Arts

It doesn’t matter if you’re a hardcore artist or just someone who loves to interpret the works, the Minneapolis Institute of Arts (MIA) is your go-to place for the best artwork.

This art museum packs an impressive array of works from throughout history. On the first floor, you’ll catch a beautiful collection of ancient art from the ancient Egyptian, Indian, Chinese, and Japanese periods, among many others.

The second floor boasts mainly medieval works. You’ll be able to see intricate medieval armor, weaving work, and hand-painted artwork here. The last level contains modern and contemporary 2- and 3-dimensional works.

When you check this spot, make sure you have most of the day to enjoy the experience truly.

Historic Fort Snelling

Take a step back in time to appreciate some Minnesota history at Fort Snelling, the oldest structure in Minnesota. Fort Snelling is a living history museum, with costumed tour guides providing information on its past.

The fort, established in the early 19th century as a frontier outpost is set over the point where the Mississippi and Minnesota rivers converge.

Enjoy special history-themed events throughout the spring and summer, including demonstrations, competitions, and youth programs. Learn stories about the military fort and the surrounding area, including Native peoples, trade, veterans and soldiers, enslaved people, immigrants, and the changing landscape.

Minnehaha Regional Park

Every city needs to have a bit of nature to keep us in touch with our grassroots, and the Minnehaha Regional Park does just that.

This is one of the prettiest natural parks you could ever explore. Here you can take a stroll down the pergola garden, take a look at the statues of Hiawatha and Minnehaha, or enjoy the 53 foot high Minnehaha waterfall.

Afterward, enjoy a beautiful evening dining at the Sea Salt Eatery. What more could you ask for?
